Overview
Kenya's extraordinary biodiversity is best understood by traversing the full length of its wildlife landscape — from the hot, semi-arid riverine ecosystems of the north to the iconic savanna of the south. This 6-day circuit is one of our most ecologically diverse itineraries, offering radically different landscapes, unique species found nowhere else in East Africa, and a front-row seat on some of the continent's most urgent conservation stories. The journey begins in Samburu, celebrated for the 'Special Five' — species found only in this arid northern ecosystem: the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and the long-necked Gerenuk antelope. From Samburu, the route passes through Ol Pejeta Conservancy — home to the world's last two northern white rhinos, a chimpanzee sanctuary, and the highest density of black rhinos in East Africa. The safari concludes with two days in the Maasai Mara.

Day 1: North to Samburu — The Equator Crossing
Drive north from Nairobi, crossing the equator at Nanyuki. Continue into the hot, acacia-studded lowlands of Samburu District. Enter the reserve for an afternoon drive along the Ewaso Ng'iro River banks. Reticulated giraffes and elephants are almost guaranteed on Day 1.

Day 2: Samburu Special Five — Full Day in the Northern Bush
Full day within the reserve tracking all five of Samburu's unique northern species. Morning drive for Grevy's zebra and the extraordinary Gerenuk. Afternoon focus on predator activity — Samburu's lions are well-studied and frequently spotted. Optional evening cultural visit to a Samburu manyatta.

Day 3: Ol Pejeta — Rhinos, Chimps & History
Drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Morning visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Afternoon dedicated to rhino tracking: visit Sudan's memorial (last male northern white rhino), meet the last two females Najin and Fatu, and track the conservancy's 150+ black rhinos.

Day 4: South to the Mara — Crossing the Divide
Drive south through the Aberdare foothills to the Maasai Mara. The landscape transitions dramatically from the dusty north to the green rolling hills of the Mara escarpment. Arrive for a sunset game drive.

Day 5: The Great Mara Plains — Big Cats & Big Herds
Full day in the Mara's most productive sectors. Sunrise drive targeting cheetah families and leopards in the riverine forest. Midday bush picnic. Afternoon focus on Migration herds and their associated predators.

Day 6: Farewell Mara & Return to Nairobi
